FAQ
You'll find answers to the most frequently asked questions here on this page. But if you'd like to ask us something that isn't covered here, please drop us a line at prolifictalentmanagement@gmail.com
Are your books open?
Our books are closed for the time being, with the possible exception of a few actors known to us, who we are already in talks with. We will update if and when we are expanding our roster.
Please note, we do not represent performers below the age of 18.
If you would like to contact us regarding representation, please use the email address above.
Please do not contact us by phone or social media for representation requests, we cannot keep track.
We do our best to reply to all enquiries regarding representation, but there may be a delay of several weeks before we are able to respond, as we prioritise the needs of our existing clients.
What makes Prolific Talent Management different?
With decades of experience as performers ourselves, we understand what it takes to succeed in this demanding and competitive industry. That firsthand knowledge drives our commitment to supporting our clients, both professionally and personally. We believe in transparency and open communication, empowering our actors to take charge of their careers as we work together to achieve their goals.
Our team goes above and beyond for our clients. For us "representation" goes beyond simply ticking a box on Spotlight, we go the extra mile to create opportunities for our actors, regularly promoting their talents to casting directors, and making connections to further careers.
We actively champion our clients’ work by attending and promoting their performances whenever possible. We offer regular in-person and online drop-ins to discuss progress, provide guidance, and offer ongoing career support. We also put our teaching experience to good use, offering on-the-spot guidance to our clients to make sure their self-tapes are at the top of their game prior to submission, thereby increasing their chances of booking the role.
As an agency, our vision extends beyond sourcing external opportunities; we’re committed to generating our own creative work. Trusted by production companies who contact us directly to supply talented actors for their projects, we also develop original productions featuring our actors through our associated production company, Fourmost Films. Recent projects include the feature film Surrender To It, short film Pura Vida (shot on location in Costa Rica), and we’re expanding our creative reach into theatre and touring productions with a live theatrical showcase already under our belt to celebrate our first year as an agency.
Do I need to be on Spotlight to be represented?
The short answer, if you want to be taken seriously as an actor, is yes.
The long answer is, if you are new to the acting industry, and you are not already on Spotlight, then as a Spotlight accredited agency, Prolific Talent can make a recommendation to get you accepted.
If you are applying for representation and you are not yet on Spotlight, you will need recent, professional headshots, and we would need to see evidence of your acting performance. So please include your showreel or acting footage to support your application, and two contrasting self-tapes demonstrating your casting type.
Can I have more than one agent?
Prolific Talent offers personal management, which means we provide sole representation, covering all areas of the entertainment industry. It is not possible to be represented by more than one agency for personal management. However, in certain circumstances, it is possible to have another agent covering a specific area of work (for example, voice over or modelling), as long as it is clearly defined which areas of work each agent is covering. Please note, however, that Prolific Talent Management clients cannot have a separate commercial agent.
Do you represent actors based overseas?
At the present time, we only represent actors based in the UK and Ireland, we are not currently able to represent actors without a base in the British Isles.
Do you specialise in a certain area?
We cover all areas of performance, and many of our actors are versatile performers who work across stage, screen and audio. All of our actors must have showreel footage and professional credits in order to be represented by Prolific Talent. We prefer our actors to have some level of screen experience, even if their preference is for theatre work.
Are you registered with the PMA?
Not yet. The PMA requires agents to have been operating for at least three years before applying, so we are not yet able to apply for membership. However, we do intend to apply in future, and in the meantime, we are familiar with, and aim to comply with the code of conduct and industry standards set out by the PMA.
We're also looking into the possibility of membership with other governing bodies while we wait.
What are your commission rates?
Our commission rates range from 10% to 20% depending on the type of work and how it was sourced. These rates fall within expected industry standards, and if anything, are on the lower side. Full details of our commission structure are provided in our representation agreement, should we offer you representation.
As performers ourselves, our contract includes lots of "actor friendly" clauses, and has been personally curated to offer our clients the fairest contract possible, that we ourselves would want to sign.
Will I be able to see my Spotlight suggestions?
Absolutely, yes. We offer full transparency using agency software called Tagmin, which we have set up so that our clients can see all of their Spotlight suggestions via an app.
What if I source my own work?
We actively encourage our clients to be proactive, to network, and to source and create their own work.
We have built clauses into our contract to take this into consideration, and we offer what we believe is one of the fairest contracts there is.
Do you represent other types of creatives, as well as performers?
Not yet, but we have plans to expand our services to include directors, musical directors, writers, composers, and other creatives. (Watch this space).
